Evaluation: Positives and Negtives

In the preliminary task, a lot of things went well for my group. First of all we worked together very well as a group and allowed each other to share out the roles, giving us all a valid part in the making of our film. The setting of our production was perfectly chosen by us and we worked together to create the perfect lighting, backdrop and atmosphere for each scene. Also we got to shoot a wide variety of shots and angles to create an interesting and different movie to what other people have done. We managed to incorporate each of the features such as match on action and the 180 degree rule in our film so we succeeded in doing as the task asked us to. I liked the fact that we chose to make our film black and white because it made us individual. Furthermore, our editing went very well and we managed to make each scene and shot flow smoothly together as well as creating an interesting soundtrack and place it over our film to suit each frame. On the contrary, there were a few things we didn’t like as much as we would have wanted to. For example, some of the scenes we shot were slightly unrealistic and didn’t make sense in terms of the way we shot them. For example, during the pan up of Phoebes body, it didn’t make sense to us why we had her stood still for 10 seconds, as she wouldn’t have done that in real life. Also, some of the sound was a little bit off. Apart from that I am happy with our film.
